The Center for Regenerative Agriculture aims to investigate, develop, demonstrate, and educate about comprehensive, regenerative practices that both restore and enhance the resiliency of living systems.
As a society, we have overshot our planet’s capacity for sustainability, and we have only one option which is to rapidly regenerate that which underlies our life here on planet Earth, our soils. Agriculture is uniquely poised to address climate change by returning carbon to the soil through regenerative farming /ranching practices.
The Initiative for Regenerative Agriculture was created as a global research center, demonstration site, and policy think tank to usher in a real potential future for this planet’s capacity to robustly sustain Earth’s complex system of diversity.
Our programs are designed to support the farming and ranching communities with applied research, educational programs, and economically viable production systems that builds soil carbon.
- Develop interdisciplinary teams that research innovative methods and strategies resulting in practical, transferable, and transformative solutions to regenerate soils and ecosystems
- Develop a multi-sector network that includes academics, farmers, industry leaders, community members, and policy makers to implement and realize the benefits of these solutions.
- Develop and implement strategies for creating multi-scale food security (local to global).
Support policy to create equitable, healthy and resilient societies by transforming food systems.
